5 Things I Love About Morning

Filed Under: The In Between | Updated: June 11, 2017 | 2 Comments

5 things that make the morning time wonderful! In case you didn’t know, I am an eternal morning person. like, I honestly get up at 5 (or before, haha) every morning, rain or shine, weekday or weekend…and I love it. It’s my absolute favorite time of the day. Here’s what I love the most…

– One –

It’s dark. quiet and new. I get a few moments of solitude in the darkness before starting a fresh day. It’s so peaceful. Just me and the morning (and the coffee, of course).

– Two –

There’s coffee. Hot. Fresh. Coffee. And a whole collection of coffee mugs that belong to me. Each morning I rifle through the cabinet; that’s full of memories from our life and our travels thus far. I pick a cup and sit down for a few minutes in the darkness and look out the sliding glass door – drinking my coffee and thinking about all the things I need to get done that day. It’s like mental organizing!

– Three –

I can blog if I want to! The early morning is one of the only times during the day that I can blog without interruption. The house is completely quiet, and I can think and write, even if it’s only for an hour.

– Four –

I’m the only one up. Which means I get to see everyone else wake up. Some are cheerful (Mad) and some are well, not so much (Hannah). Either way, I get enjoy those first few moments in the morning when they’re not quite awake yet, but are stumbling around the house anyway. It reminds me so much of when they were little. And that seems so long ago… I’m holding on to these mornings as long as I can.

– Five –

The sunrise. I try to see the sunrise most mornings and I’ve never, ever been disappointed. Watching the sun come up through the pecan trees here is incredible, so different for arizona; I feel…lucky. It’s a gorgeous, glowing reminder that a brand new day is beginning.

Happy Tuesday!
