Yes, or even tripled if needed. You might need to use a stand mixer if you're making a triple batch - it's a lot of frosting.

Why is my frosting lumpy?

It could be that your powdered sugar is dry or that the frosting needs more mixing. You can add milk, a little at a time and continue to mix the frosting until it thins out and/or is smooth.

Yes! In fact, if you plan to double or even triple the recipe, I'd recommend using a stand mixer if you have one. It's a lot of powdered sugar.
