Homemade Buttermilk

I don’t know about you, but I never seem to have buttermilk on hand when a recipe calls for it, so I like to use homemade buttermilk instead!

Make homemade buttermilk instead of having to run to the store when a recipe calls for it! It's so easy!Since I bake pretty regularly (as you well know, haha), I occasionally find myself in need of buttermilk and I never, and I mean never have any in the fridge! It’s not an ingredient I use much of and it goes bad so darn quickly that I can’t justify buying a carton for just one recipe. The struggle is real.

I knew there had to be an easy solution for this predicament, so I did a little research and I was right – there is! Turns out, it’s super easy to make homemade buttermilk right when you need it!

No more fretting over not having any buttermilk or trying to substitute for it in a recipe, just whip up a cup or two of your own homemade buttermilk using ingredients you already have in your kitchen! Nine times out of ten, I use white vinegar to make my buttermilk, but I’ve heard lemon juice works just as well!
