Hey ya’ll! Just wanted to write a quick {whole30} update.
I decided to lump several days together because they are all pretty much the same. and in all honesty, I feel pretty gosh darn normal. My mind has been really focused on food though…still. I find myself always thinking about food; what I’m going to eat next or what I want to cook. All the dang time!
One positive thing about that is that it’s forcing me to be prepared, which I kind of like.
By evening time though, I still find myself dying for a (junky) carb. I really want a donut, some brownies, a waffle, a slice of pound cake (anything!) and probably a glass of wine, but I don’t do it. If I’m really in trouble, I grab some fruit. It is NOT the same, but I try to convince myself it is. Haha!
I still reeeeeeeeeally miss coffee creamer. And I’ve realized this is probably the hardest part of all this for me. The drinks! It surprises me that coffee creamer and wine have been the most challenging for me to let go of during this challenge; the food restrictions seem more manageable.
So that’s about it, for now; I’m chugging along. lots of fruits, veggies, and protein and tons of water! I’m halfway there! Woohoo!
Whole 30 sounds VERY healthy. Very limited. Good for weight loss? What have you experienced in that regard?
Hi Marie! Yes, it’s super restricting, but in a weird way – i kind of like that. I know what my boundaries are and I can stay within them. Yes, I’ve lost 5 pounds or so, but I’ve heard some people lose much more, it depends a lot on your eating habits before starting it. I already ate a whole food diet with very little processed foods, so it wasn’t a humongous change for me. I think after my 30 days is up, I’ll continue too, but with a few modifications. I’ll eat some dairy, since I don’t have an allergy (Greek yogurt and half and half for my coffee) as well as the occasional bowl of oats (because I really love oatmeal), but I plan to stay off all sugars, natural or otherwise and all baked/bread/pasta/crackers. 🙂
