I’ve been meaning to share something with you—something that’s been quietly taking shape behind the scenes, and I’m finally ready for it to come out into the open!
It’s not a big, flashy change though; in fact this is mostly still the same cozy, creative blog you’ve always known and loved, but it is something that finally puts words to the heart of what I’ve been doing here all along. It has a name…
The Modern Grandma.

Now, before you start picturing doilies and glass candy dishes (though let’s be honest, we have them and we love them), let me explain what this actually means—and what you can expect from me moving forward.
Who Is This Modern Grandma?
Well actually, it’s more of a vibe. A whole aesthetic. A way of living that’s cozy and creative, nostalgic and new, classic and clever—all rolled into one. Think homemade cookies cooling on the counter while a seasonal candle burns nearby, a crochet project resting in your lap while a soup simmers on the stove, and a kitchen drawer that always has ribbon in it…you know, just in case.
It’s a feeling. One of comfort, joy, creativity, and home.
This blog has always been about creating that kind of life—one that feels full, festive, and meaningful. And I struggled to put my finger on exactly what to call it for years, but, The Modern Grandma is the perfect way to describe it.
Why I Chose This Tag Line
Truth be told, yes—I am actually a grandma. But that’s not really what this is about. This isn’t a blog about being a grandmother. It’s about bringing that same warm, handmade, homey energy to everyday life, into today’s life, no matter your age or whether you have grandkids or not.
“The Modern Grandma” is more of a mindset than a title. She’s the woman who bakes from scratch and makes her own holiday decorations—not because she has to, but because she loves to. She’s got flour on her apron, a to-do list on her fridge, and a knack for making everything special. She’s not afraid to try new projects, learn new skills, or dive headfirst into a seasonal theme (I mean, have you seen my Christmas tree content?).
It’s a little bit retro, a little bit trendy, and a whole lot of heart.
What You Can Expect From Me
If you’ve been here for a while, not much is changing—I’m just getting crystal clear about who I am and what I want to do on this blog. And, of course, you’ll be getting more of me. But I also want you to know exactly what you can expect to find when you land on this blog going forward:
- Tried-and-true recipes that feel cozy, nostalgic, and are perfect for sharing
- Simple craft and crochet projects that are modern, doable, and full of personality
- Festive seasonal inspiration for making your home feel festive and joyful year-round (there’s always something to celebrate, isn’t there?)
- Tips, printables, and tutorials that help you create with confidence
- Videos and tutorials to cook, decorate, and chat right along with me (on YouTube!)
- A peek behind the scenes into what I’m making, baking, and decorating in real life (this is the “more of me” part)
So, whether you’re here for a cookie recipe, an afghan pattern, or just to feel a little more inspired at home—you’re definitely in the right place.
This is just the beginning of a season of deeper connection, more creativity, and celebrating all the little things that make life so sweet and so special. The Modern Grandma is an invitation to slow down, create something with your hands, and find magic in the everyday (this has always been my motto).
And I’m so glad you’re here for all of it. I hope you feel inspired, encouraged, and of course, right at home here.
