Do It For You

Today, I realized something very important. We should do things for ourselves – whatever makes us happy. Who knows you better than you? Nobody. So why not trust yourself to make the decisions that will make you happiest? It’s time to stop worrying about what others think and start living the life we want, for ourselves.

I mean, think about this – when we’re constantly trying to please others, we’re not really living our own lives. We’re living someone else’s version of our lives. And who wants to live like that?

When we start doing things for ourselves, we take back our control. We start living on our own terms, pursuing our own goals, and following our own dreams. And that’s when life gets really exciting.

Sure, doing things for ourselves can be scary. It means taking risks, putting ourselves out there, and sometimes failing (yikes). But it also means living a life that’s authentic, fulfilling, and truly our own and truthfully, that’s what life’s all about.

This blog is a great example. I put off starting it for years because it’s ‘not a moneymaker’ and it doesn’t ‘provide value’, but writing here, and sharing my thoughts fills my cup in a way that fluff blogging and writing recipes never did, and I don’t care what anyone has to say about it.

And let’s be real – when we stop worrying so much about what other people think, we’re actually more likely to succeed because we’re not held back by fear or self-doubt or the pressure to conform. We’re free to be our best, boldest, most badass selves.

So the next time you catch yourself worrying about what others will think, ask yourself – is this really for me, or am I doing it for someone else? And if the answer is the latter, take a deep breath, shake it off, and do what you need to do for YOU. Trust me – it’ll be worth it.
