this is the first post in my home tour series! welcome to my craft room (could you tell it was mine by the abundance of k’s?).
after 8+ months of construction, we finally moved into our new house in february and after getting every single box out of storage and unpacked (which was a huge undertaking), i’ve been slowly making my way through the house organizing and getting some stuff up on the walls.
one of the first areas i tackled was my craft room, because, well, i need a place to blog people!
my very first project was this monogram k wall. i was (of course) inspired by pinterest. and let me tell ya, if you want to add personalization to a room, this is a super simple and inexpensive way to do it. you can mix and match colors, sizes, textures, patterns, and frames; you name it and it works.
i collected several of these k’s over the years, but because monograms are insanely popular right now, you can find them everywhere! don’t like the color, spray paint that sucker! i even printed a few of these out on our color printer and just stuck them in a frame i had laying around. so easy and so cute!
kristine’s tip: i like to lay galleries like this out on the ground before attempting to hang them on the wall. start with the piece or pieces you want to be in the center and lay the remaining pieces out around it until you find a layout that you love. then just find the center of the wall and start by hanging the pieces in the middle of your layout, working your way outward until they are on the wall the way they were laying on the floor.
for the rest of the walls i hung some of my favorite portraits, hooks for my cameras (not pictured), and shelving for all my baskets and bins to keep everything organized!
so, tell me do you have a monogram wall in your home? do you want to? for additional inspiration check out this board on pinterest, she’s got some great stuff!
