This edible cookie dough is a dream come true for me cookie dough lovers! It’s completely safe to eat!
I ‘may’ have a problem when it comes to cookie dough. But I know the risks of eating raw cookie dough, so I decided there had to be a better way. Omit the egg of course and make edible cookie dough! So, I did some playing around with my favorite cookie dough recipe and the amounts of the ingredients until I created the most perfect chocolate chip edible cookie dough!
What exactly do you do with this edible cookie dough you ask? Oh let me tell you, aside from just eating it right out of the bowl (which is my favorite thing to do), you can roll it into little balls and freeze it, then stir it into your favorite ice-cream or add some milk to thin it out and use it as frosting for your favorite brownie recipe! Or how about spreading it between two cookies for an edible cookie dough sandwich? See, there are lots of options!
Whether you hog this all for yourself (me) or share it with someone you care about, you’ll love how easy this edible cookie dough to make and how absolutely delicious it is to eat! You can have tons-o-fun with it!

OMG this looks amazing and I love that you used whole wheat flour! You could totally dip these in melted chocolate to make truffles for Valentine’s Day!
Thank you so much Emily! I debated on the flour haha, is it really worth it to use whole wheat in a “treat” but I opted for yes, it’s always better to make it healthier if I can! It is super yummy! 🙂
Oh my gosh this is so fun! Here’s why, hubby LOVES raw cookie dough or any raw batter, I …. do…. not. Recently, after licking the spatula of chocolate muffins, he said, why don’t you make a cookie dough ‘something’. I said, why would I? He said, because I like it. Here it is. The perfect dough without eggs. Thank you so much. Or, thank you from my hubby. 😉
Elaine, I love this so much! It is definitely an indulgence, but boy it’s yummy! Now you can treat your sweet husband! 🙂
I love that you added walnuts as I love nuts in all my baked goods! Can’t wait to make and devour this!
Me too, Megan! Thank you so much. Hope you LOVE it! 🙂
I saw something like this recently on one of those cooking shows and they heated the flour in the oven to kill harmful bacteria that can sometimes be present. Besides the egg – that’s another reason they give not to eat raw dough. That said, I just made cookies the other day and had a big spoonful of the dough — raw egg, flour and all.
I think I’ve heard that too Lisa, thank you for sharing! I agree though, I often just tempt fate and go for a big spoonful (or this!).
Ummm…yumm! Who doesn’t love cookie dough?!? Yay to you for coming up with a recipe with no eggs to make it safe to eat! Pretty sure it wouldn’t be safe for me to make though as I’m afraid I’d eat it all!!!
LOL! Exactly, Lisa! I have the very same problem. Love. It. So. Much. 🙂
